    Automated Data Entry

Automated Data Entry is the extraction of digital data from paper-based forms such as sales orders, insurance claims, time sheets, tax returns, credit card applications, traffic tickets, checks, surveys, warranty cards, and virtually any other type of printed form.

Automated forms processing software is now widely accepted by information intensive companies, is implemented quickly, and has high rates of customer satisfaction, according to a major study. A startling 92 percent of companies surveyed who do not currently have automated data entry have considered it, and 64 percent are likely to automate within the next 12 months.

Large forms processors were the early adopters of this technology because of the sheer volume. The technology is now such that processors of as few as 500 forms a day can experience a quick return on investment.

Another reason for the increased interest is the dramatic improvements in database accuracy, allowing some installations to reach 99.9 percent accuracy and generally improving accuracy over manual data entry.

The survey also showed that 91 percent of users are satisfied with their purchase of automated forms processing software, with 41 percent very satisfied.

Forms automation gives companies more productivity and flexibility and staff can be used for decision making or customer interface work rather than data entry. Increasing employee productivity is a major driver of sustained economic growth today, and forms automation is a part of that that trend.

    Benefits of Automated Data Entry

Immediate Payback: How much time does your company spend entering data from forms? How many employees do you invest in pure data entry, let alone extracting any knowledge from the data? ChanCES are, if you use 3 full time employees or more, you are a prime candidate to save money almost immediately by using forms processing technologies. Accurate: Many people worry that recognition technologies can't possibly read things more clearly than a human. What happens if technology processes something incorrectly? Software today has ways of getting around this problem. For example, users can set the software to different levels of "confidence". If data on the form is not recognized to that particular level, then it is immediately passed on to a queue for a human to manually enter or verify. When set at high confidence levels, much more data will come back to be checked by an operator, than when set at low confidence levels. These and other processes can virtually create situations with 100% accuracy. Problem solved! Immediate Hard Cash Savings: The average return on investment from switching to automated data entry when using 3 full time employees for data entry is only 3 months. Three things have been proven to produce significant return on investment benefits when using forms processing technologies:

    • Reduce or Eliminate Manual Data Entry

    • Improve the Accuracy of Data Being Captured

    • Process Forms More Efficiently

Keep Up With The Competition: Many companies that manually entered data from forms regularly are now using automated data entry technologies. These companies are reporting reduced error rates, increased customer service quality and incredible savings almost immediately. CES is proud to offer Datacap, the industry's most powerful and comprehensive software for automated data entry. Wrapping a decade of capture technology leadership into a collection of powerful software tools which run on the most efficient capture workflow platform, Datacap offers the best building blocks available to create fast and accurate capture systems.

We will be pleased to discuss your automated data entry needs at a time that is convenient for you. Please call us at 800-923-7462 today.
